Mech Keyboard, Aluminum (if possible), Gateron/Cherry, TKL/Full (HELP!?)

more_vert
Hey guys. I really want to buy my first mechanical keyboard, but I'm not sure what to go with. I want TKL of full setup. I think i will like Cherry MX clears (I'm a rock climber, I have sting fingers), but the only boards with clears are really expensive ($150+). I really would prefer an aluminum frame, it goes with my whole setup, but I can live without one. I also was looking for something under $100 bucks. First was the Corsair K65, but I just cant do Cherry MX Red, I want a bump. Not I'm looking at the Glorious PC Gaming Race with Brown Gaterons on Massdrop. Any Ideas? Any insight on whether I would do well with clears? Up for any time of advice, thanks!

Both. Maybe a bit more focused on typing. I know I prob don't want reds, but the k65 is $50 rn on eBay. Tough to keep me away from that

I got a planck with blue (alphas) and green (edges). So far I have not been killed at work, but everyone knows when I'm about to send a long email.

Hello nicepear,
to give you some feedback, your approach "... I think i will like Cherry MX clears ..." isn't the best one and may mislead you. Maybe you have to change your budget or wishes, this is the best i'm able to provide in a quick way:
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?keyword=&brand=&switch=9&size=&led=&capmat=&capprint=&model=&availability=in_stock_pre&show_kb=off&show_kb=on&show_acc=off
Good luck

ya, I mean a showing aluminum body. Like the Corsair K65. How are reds for typing? Like essays, papers, school stuff, etc? I heard they weren't great. I plan on going into best but to test em out soonish. I tried the Roamer G's and they felt a bit mushy to me. How different are the reds?

You can do what ever you want with all switches given, it's personal preference. It won't help you at all and is irrelevant what others like, prefer or suggest!!!
