Broken Stabilizers?
more_vert
Hello, I just broke a stabilizer on my brand new CTRL keyboard while changing my spacebar keycap. The new ones were pretty tight :(. Please, tell me there is a way to fix this? Can I buy cherry stabilizers somewhere? How do I install it? Thanks a lot!

Those are PCB mount. Not plate mount.

Same thing happened to me. I bought these (https://zealpc.net/products/authentic-cherry-pcb-plate-mount-gold-plated-stabilizers?list_generator=order_line_item&user_id=10778917&utm_source=shop_app&context=order_first_order_detail_line_item) from ZealPC, and I actually like them better than the stock stabilizers. It’s really easy to change them out, just use a small flathead screwdriver to push the lever on the top of the stabilizer and pull it out. There are a lot of videos out there showing you how.

Yeah, I read the reviews, it’s tempting. I actually noticed the metallic sounds from my shift key and it’s starting to get annoying! Will be my next update!

i went through the same thing. Broke a stab removing my space bar. The charry plate mount stabs are impressive. especially after getting used to the ones on the "alt" or "ctrl". Its a piece of cake to replace them. I watched Badseed tech's video just to help reassure myself. and it explains everything perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtwmMdyFWTQ . Hes working on an alt in this video. But another thing I learned is to be "EXTRA" cautious when changing switches. I popped to hotswap sockets out when replacing mine. Granted I wasn't very experienced at the time.
plate mount cherry 2u and 6.25 https://novelkeys.xyz/collections/miscellaneous/products/cherry-stabilizers All the sites I looked at are OOS
Other sites include 1up keyboards, spacecat designs, keebio, KBDfans, and switch top. Check across those if you're ever looking for stuff
