My recommendation is to save up a bit longer and get something worthwhile. At $50-100 range you can get a set of IEMs that are actually fairly good. I'd look at MEE A151P, Hifiman RE-400, RHA MA-750, Shure SE215, or Philips Fidelio S1 for that price range. I have not experienced a sub $50 IEM that I would recommend to anyone with 1 possible exception. Ultimate Ears UE500 can still be found for sub-$50 and sounds pretty good but it is still quite bass heavy. If you don't want bass heavy IEM, save up for longer. It'll be worth the wait. The ones in the list I gave you above are quite good and some of them do drop down to around the $50 point from time to time if you keep your eyes open and your wallet closed until you're ready.
Earbuds won't stay in your ear so I'm not even considering the $5 VE Monk+ which is absolutely jaw-dropping as far as sound quality. Particularly considering the price. They might stay on your ear better with with the rubber ear hook thingies that double the cost though.
