GEC exclusive

more_vert
I’ve just recently entered the rabbit hole of traditional knives. Is it possible to get a GEC (Great Eastern Cutlery) exclusive for drop? Or is that a no go because drop is not a GEC dealer? And if we could get an exclusive who wants one?

Your best bet to track down any specific GEC is to keep checking the Exchange on BladeForums under Old Timey knives. Then if you go to the Great Eastern Cutlery website it list all there Dealers witch obviously is a place to look first but some of the smaller dealers don't just buy the models as they get them from GEC some are collecting themselves and they often put older models up for sale. Of course there's a premium on the price but it's nothing like you see on Ebay. One day I picked up a GEC #16 Canoe knife for $165 usd and I'd just saw one on ebay for $300 that wasn't even as nice as the one I got. Of and another place is AAPK (All About Pocket) with can have some good deals on GEC knives but there's plenty of over priced ones too. However if you like vintage Slipjoints like 1940-1964 Case XX and old Queen and Shatt & Morgan cutlery AAPK is the place to go. Good luck. ✌

I'd love to get one. I have been collecting GEC knives for years now and often buy The BladeForums Traditionals annual SFO witch is usually a GEC. I don't think you need to be a dealer but you are often asked to limit your selection to the models already selected for that year.

No I wasn't crazy about them ether. Except the #47 Viper 😲 that's looking awesome with the Brown Micarta Scales. 👊😎

I didn't see that one. I want to get a #25 Barlow with a clip point blade. I am also into burlap Micarta really want to see some black burlap Micarta but I'm pretty happy with the classic brown.
