Hey everyone!
We want to give you a heads-up: Starting October 14, the Pro Audio Community will merge into the Audiophile Community. A significant portion of the Pro Audio Community is made up of audiophiles, and we believe we can better serve both communities if they are together.
So what’s next? We’d love to hear from everybody about their favorite audiophile and pro audio products—especially if you have insights that are not already in the polls. Please use this thread as a way to discuss what you’d like to see next!

Seeing how Schiit is averse to relying on discounts to move products I wouldn't hold me breath. They've been requested almost daily for years and it's not happened.

As much as I think you're right, I still hope that they will oblige in some way with what I and many others long for.

Yawn, got tired of waiting for Massdrop to add a Jotunheim drop; purchased it direct from Shiit, and even thought I paid full price. and it's on back order, it's guaranteed to arrive before I die of old age--something MD can't promise!

Benchmark would be great but I probably can't afford them... I am looking for a good headphone and passive speaker amp setup for my computer. I am intrigued by a couple of Emotiva products. First the TA-100 stereo preamp/DAC/tuner with an integrated amplifier. It has enough power to drive my near-field studio monitors and any headphones I may want to add. The DAC is pretty good, so it can free up my other ones, plus with two pairs of analog inputs I could come out of my PC sound card as well and still have another plug in if I want to check a iPad mix. (if if had a AM tuner it would be perferct.) Second, the Emotiva BasX A-100 has MORE power available for the headphones, about the same for the speakers, for a lower price, but dropping the tuner/preamp and the DAC. This would work for me, it just would not be as clean of a setup... One more item, they are both high-current short signal path Class A/B amplifiers for those who prefer not to go with class D amps...

Headphone Stand
I decided to design and build some headphone stands for myself and my friends. It started out with pencil and paper sketching, then it transitioned to a cardboard out-out model, and now I finished the project. I used SolidsWorks to model it and then I transferred it to MasterCam to plan the CNC routing. [image] I am using 3/4 inch wood board and stacking 4 of them on top of each other. The center 2 pieces will have through holes and the out 2 pieces will only have holes cut 1/2 inch in. Then dowel rods and wood glue will be used to make sure the outside faces are nice and pretty. Help w/ gaming headset...
Hello everyone. I need some advice, specifically a recommendation for a new gaming headset / mic for my 13 year old son. He mainly plays Fortnite, Minecraft, Madden, etc... I've bought him a myriad of headsets, only to see them fail within 6 months. (Turtle beach, etc.). I'd like to spend under $200, preferably $150. Thanks in advance. Be blessed.

Looking for headphones along my AKG K712 Pro
Hello, this is my first post, having some trouble figuring out the how the board works but nvm that. Anyway, I'm a musician (also have my small home studio) and a gamer, my current headphones are the AKG K712 Pro and I use Focusrite Clarett 4pre USB Audio interface. The AKG are great headphones, huge soundstage, very neutral, but sometimes the soundstage sound way too big, and sometimes the fact that they are neutral kinda ruins because they are very surgical towards everything I listen to. And sometimes a bit uncomfortable... I had a chance to listen to Sennheiser Game One headphones I liked how much more fun they were listening to music, I knew it wasn't the most precise recreation of the music but the smoothness was very pleasant to the ears, with one downside that the treble was cut bit too much for my taste. I also had the chance to record and listen with the Audio Technica M50X, which were great for studio uses and music, and also were quite fun. Anyway, cut the introduction...

Question for 58X owners..
Do any of y'all go ahead and buy the 6XX after buying the 58X just because you're interested in the differences in the sound? I just bought the 58X but after reading reviews on both, I find myself longing to hear the 6XX as well. Thoughts? Cheers!

Overwhelmed With Finding a Set of Headphones
Hello, I am somewhat new to the world of audio, but have always cared about having good sounding music and media. I am looking for a set of open back headphones primarily for gaming (first person shooters) but also want to be able to listen to music. I listen to a lot of styles from metal to jazz; so I’m looking for a well rounded sound. I don’t listen to hip-hip or electronic music much, so bass isn’t a huge concern for me. I have an old amp/receiver (STR-DH100) and use the 1/4” headphone jack. The amp then plugs into my computer. So my question is... What should I be looking at? I’m around the $200 price range but have wiggle room. I want a removable cable, open back, and comfort is important. I have ATH-m40’s and they kill my ears after long gaming seasons. So far the 6XX and 58X Jubilee look appealing. Also seen some people recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Studio (but it lacks a removable cable) as well as the AKG 7XX. Any input would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in...

Any suggestions for wireless headsets to be worn during exercise that won't fall off
I am looking for wireless headphones with a microphone to be worn in the gym. My ears have an atypical inner ear structure and thus none of the so called IEMs that are 'guaranteed not to fall' work for me. I am looking at preferably bluetooth 5, a hook like design that keeps the buds in place and a microphone that will allow me to answer calls while I am working out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Budget is around USD 100.

Cheap, budget DAC for the Massdrop x HIFIMAN HE4XX?
As the FX Audio DAC(+amp) X6 sold out, it was well within my budget. Is the O2 AMP + SDAC DAC/AMP better than no DAC for $150? Also what are more budget DAC/AMP combos like this one, and more only-DAC combos like this one. (Cheaper)

Recessed 2 pin connectors
[image] As many of you are probably aware of, the 2 pin sockets on the KZ IEMs are different than those on the TFZ IEMs 🙄. The KZs are smaller and rounded, and the TFZ cables do fit on the KZs, but not great (not the vice versa). I’ve read that the recessed 2 pin cables by 3rd party makers, such as the Tripowin C8, fit the KZs. My question is, do any of you know of any recessed 2 pin cables that fit the TFZs? Or do I just need to use regular 2 pin cables, and let the connection remain exposed?
