Am I need an amplifier to connect those headphones to my pc? or can I connect the cable directly to my headphones jack in my pc's motherboard?

I connect them directly and they sound great, loud & clear! Some people on here have mentioned pairing them with a headphone amp, but I don’t find it necessary with my laptop, but remember that will vary from machine to machine depending on several variables. If you do use an amp, do NOT use the [PCV 05] adapter as the mic should still plug directly into the PC to avoid damaging it. You should ONLY run the green/earphone cable through the amp, nothing else.

SuperFlyEDSguyThanks for the info mate. It works great without an amp. It connects directly to my pc's soundcard.

royiy88No problem! 👍 Glad it worked out for you! I wasn’t too worried since most modern machines will do just fine. It’s not like you have to use & abuse the sound card to process virtual surround sound, like 5.1 or 7.1, because part of the beauty of this is that it’s stereo and open too! (Oh, yeah, sorry, you probably know this part by now!) It’s a totally different sound that most will like, some will hate, but without a doubt these cans will sound very close to how the production team wanted it to sound during mastering! The drivers are even made at Sennheiser’s very modern factory in Tullamore, Ireland 🇮🇪 The very same manufacturing plant responsible for churning out Sennheiser’s veritable 500 & 600-series products! Actually, you’ll find this model has a very nice sound that’s more in line with the higher-end 500-series, e.g. 598 and 599. 👍 BTW, I’m not saying that I don’t like bass, I actually enjoy it a lot in video games or if mastered correctly in music. These cans definitely fall towards the neutral, airy end of things, but throw some THX into the mix and… WOW! It’s no longer sound, rather it’s a damn experience! 🔊🔊😱 So, now you know my thoughts in some detail. I also own two other Sennheiser headphones, so I’m a bit biased. Please do LMK what you think now that you’ve had some time to use these a bit.
(Whenever is fine. No rush.) Cheers! ✌️
