DuncanThanks--I'm beginning to take a second interest in it my self. Guess I should spring for a new battery and fire it up again?

Which Invicta is that?

CloacaInvicta 8926 "Coin-Edge" --one of their moderately priced automatics, has a view-back, keeps good time. Might be about 14 years old by now! Time flies...
The Timex is a bit more of a mystery; no real info on the back. It's a an Idiglow model, water resistant to 50m, and takes a 2016 cell. Probably a little older than the Invicta.
I imagine I bought them both because I'm partial to the looks of a Rolex and was poor as a church-mouse at the time. I'm doing better these days but still haven't checked a real Sea Dweller off my shopping list.
Cheers!

RayFAt $85 at JomaShop that Invicta is a great candidate for my Genuine Beater Watch Project, an idea I have of buying a watch and deliberately bashing it up (I'm looking into buying a cheap rock tumbler for the project) so that I remove completely any psychological barriers to wearing it in the most punishing circumstances.
It's very tricky, since I might end up inadvertently creating a really cool vintage looking used style watch that I then ... wait for it ... don't want to get damaged any more.
I could just buy a $5 quartz watch, but that's not how my brain works.
My only judgement is we have similar taste in watches, and that is a nicely composed photo.

Vintage1982BenzThanks! In that case...I deem you to be a man of impeccable judgment and refined taste! And besides, I was listening to "In The Court of The Crimson King" the other day when I too that shot--coincidence? I think not!

Oh, and what's the story behind the Timex, as it looks a Timex dial bumped into the case and hands of an Invicta but the seconds looks like a Seiko SKX and the bezel of an Orient Mako II ??

You know, just had an old Rolex with a 2235 movement I'd never been happy with, so I yanked it out of the case and cobbled something together with a few old Invicta, Seiko and Orient parts I had laying around the lab--keeps much better time now.
Kidding--I don't know much about that one, think it was a Walmart special!

Nice '90's watch man. I dig it. Useful to have a smal digi part..
