Housed in the same case used on the Seiko 6309-7290 150m Automatic Diver “Slim Turtle” , it uses a Seiko 6309-7040 movement with a Quartz module modification designated as ref.# 7548 A high end movement in it’s time and until today considered as one of the best quartz movements Seiko made [movement also used in the Grand Father TUNA quartz model]. The 7548 divers were produced from 1978 till 1985. Much of the reputation of SEIKO was in part helped by U.S. Military personnel who swore by the Japanese watch brand. Seiko dive watches were popular with US Navy divers, regular grunts, and yes even amongst top brass.
