Are pc37x and clamping force the same? 37x hurt my head so much. Is the 38x a bit comfortable?

I had a PC363D, it lasted me 8 years before I had to get a new one. (cable connector worn out) The PC38x is my next goto, and it's completely unison with my old. Same comfort, sound quality etc. They WILL feel clampy in the beginning, but quickly adjusts to your head over even a few days steady use. After a week, you barely notice wearing them.

The clamping force is the same, and quite strong, and a bit uncomfortable. I was able to break them in a bit after three months. Compare this to my 360Ds, which are low clamping force, incredibly comfortable, but actually slide off my head sometimes.

Every sennheiser that I've owned had strong clamping force to start with, but they loosen up. Once they're broken in (a week of use or so), they are by far the most comfortable headphones.

I use a Yoga foam block to stretch my Senns to fit my head. It helps quite a bit with clamping force.

I have owned the 37x in the past and currently daily the 38x since release. Clamping force is similar from what I can recall. Sometimes, it bothers me. Most times, it doesn't. If the 37x hurts your head that much, then this is probably not the headphone for you.

Headphones made with a metal band often respond to gentle stretching. You can find online videos demonstrating the technique, but it's just a matter of pulling each side out to its maximum extension and then very, very gently bending them outward one side at a time. Go for very small changes. I've used this method with my Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee headphones with great success. The clamping force on these headphones was much too strong for me. I adjusted them twice and they are now much more comfortable.

I haven't owned either, but I have the 58x and 6xx. Usually if you just loosen them up with your hands the clamp force eases up quite a bit
