Honestly I just got my first pair and I can see why you went through the trouble to fix them if you can't instantly get another pair, pound for pound these hit hard and heavy for price. Makes me wonder why they don't have like an extreme nice edition. Kind of like what you made!

If i wanted to buy from amazon but the shipping price alone around 30usd to malaysia. 🀣 thats 2-3 pairs of kph30i that money can buy. Mine kph30i broken after 2 years of use extensively. Indoors, outdoors in a bus, train and even airplanes circa 2019. But while waiting for my second order of the kph30i to be shipped to Malaysia I had to mod the old broken one as it is my favourite headphones. I use a knockoff Audio Technica mrs7 headband (around 15$ USD) and remove the original pads and change with a grado gs1000 pads (also knockoff around 10$USD) to increase comfort. I happy with the end result as now this will be use at my desk and the waiting new one for portable use. These headphones are a value for money and sound incredible (I’m paired it with fiio btr3 dac) 10/10 purchase again

Lie2KatongWow I immediately recognized the headband. I have the MSR7b - the best headphones I've ever had (listening with FiiO Q5s). I have bought 3 pcs of Koss KPH30i. The gray one I used for ~2 years broke in the middle as I really used it everyday. Now I unpacked one of the "rhythm beige" pairs. So happy I got 3 :) But interestingly this one seems a little bit different in sound. Maybe slightly less deep bass I guess? I haven't disposed the gray pair so I might follow your idea after all.
