Figure 1: What could be so confusing about some pretty NOS Alps SKCL Greens? Having thoroughly beaten my opinions to death on well over a hundred different modern, MX-style switches over the past few years, one of the most common questions I get revolves around why I hardly use and/or review vintage, non-MX style switches at all. After all, the wide world of vintage mechanical keyboard switches is full of unique, odd mechanisms and “all modern switches are just recolors of each other.” While I take personal issue with that incredibly misguided second claim, I can totally understand how people can look at the wide swathes of variation in vintage switches and naturally think that that would be something I’d gravitate towards. And for what it’s worth, vintage switches are both incredibly interesting and something that I have quite a lot of hiding away in boxes. Some of my favorite brands and styles include RAFI Hall Effect switches, Hi-Tek 725s of all forms, SMK Inverse...
Hi, I just got a Drop SHIFT v2 and the quick reference card that came with it says that I should be able to toggle it between Mac and PC mode using FN+LCtrl+O but when I do that it does nothing.
I have tried other key combos and they DO work, for example FN+LCtrl+backslash does in fact toggle CAPSLOCK and CTRL, and FN+LCtrl+Backspace does reset the keyboard Is this feature just not working? I realize that I could potentially setup different Mac and PC layers in the configurator but I don't want to do that. Thanks in Advance!
On my Drop CTRL v1, CTRL+Z never activates edge LEDs. Keys LEDs work okay. I am using a stock firmware (updated today, issue present before and after). CTRL+Z appears to have 4 "modes" but in all cases the edge LED do not light up. 2 modes are keys only, and 2 modes are all dark. I think this means the edge LEDs are dead and 2 of the modes should be toggling that. Anyone dealt with this?
