I have the sound blaster g6 right now, I’m guessing it can’t power these. What amp would I need to run these?

Evshrug's answer is correct. You'll get music out of your 300ohm headphones using the SB G6 but it won't be an optimal solution. If you are using these for gaming it will probably be fine. If you are looking for an audiophile experience it will be lacking.
The G6 would power it to adequate volume, but it would have a harsher and less clear sound to it than the kind of amps more typically associated with a top of the line headphone. You certainly could start with a G6, and use the line out or optical out to expand to higher grade gear later. Here on Drop, I like the Cavalli Liquid Carbon amp – it has a “liquid clean” sound to it but seems to be less harsh in the highs, and the bass/lower mids impact doesn’t feel anemic. My first amp for my HD 800 was a Liquid Carbon, the Drop version Liquid Carbon X is very similar except it uses a generic power supply. In general, what you get from higher end amplifiers is less of a bottleneck restricting the clarity and quality of a headphone’s potential.

That g6 is a beast and is more than enough for these headphones.
