NGL I prefer the version with a regular flipping tab. Easier to keep my bigass hands out of the way of the blade. I've gotten quite good with front flipping but given a choice I'd much rather use a regular flip tab, or a thumb stud, or a thumb disc, or a Spyderhole or other blade aperture. It's been months since a front flipper has 'bitten' me but all things being equal I like knives I don't have to concentrate on opening in a way that won't get me on the ball of the thumb -- just seems too easy for the blade to roll a bit when opening in a way that puts your palm in harm's way. I think front flipping's cool and showy and all and has a place but I'd be surprised if it's still common on new models 10 years from now.
