This Microtech DOC, in Elmax steel, is my former grail, and current edc. The knife came with the updated pocket clip (2016) and has been flawless from the beginning. I have never needed to contact Microtec customer service so, no horror stories here.

If it ever needs service, I will actually send it back to Microtech. It gets used almost daily with ZERO issues so they have earned my business as far as service. I would absolutely buy this knife again if I lost it.

I got a steal of a deal on a nice piece of INFI steel. A Busse NMFBM for $800NZD. Last time I checked, they are worth about 3 times that if you want to try and get one now. It's a freakin' beast of a blade, and the destruction test on a Busse blade, (seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwcRSU0R8kE ) was what really convinced me.

Most I've spent to date was $240 on a Boker Special Run Applegate 6" 154CM Tanto Blade; always loved Applegate designs. As for my Grail, it is another knife I have limited "need" for: Fallkniven NL1 Northern Light Thor Bowie 10" VG10 tipping the scales at $530.

About $272 for an Evan John Venom New Concept. Wonderful knife. The grail knife would be a Reate Horizon D. Oh yeah!

The most I've spent to date is $35 on a CRKT M4-02W just this past month. I've carried a folder for years, but always carried something that was $15-$20. I lost the knife I had carried for five or six years last month and started researching knives and know that I'm probably going to buy a Bradford Guardian 3 soon, so that will make my most expensive about $150.

The most I've spent on a knife was $129.00 on a Spyderco Chaparral Rafir Noble. I'm not likely to spend that much again.

All my knives are sub $200. Most folders are all stainless or frn with vg10 blades. My fixed blades are all 1095 steel except for a couple D2 steel one. I like durable utilitarian minimal maintenance knives. if I could, i'd like to have a plain Norseman someday as my grail knife. Just have other priorities.

The most I spent was$100 on a Kershaw knockout m390 or in the army I spent $75 on a sk5 tanto carbon 5 blade that was a lot for a soldier back then I've had lots of spyderco knives most fell apart an it was hard to get parts back then ,emerson was one I wanted but a chisel grind seems half done to me I mean if you have a stone to do one side you can do both .the knife I always wanted a real fairborn Sykes
