It says that the input is passed through when the power is off, but what does it do when the power is on?!? I would like to put this as an insert between my main XLR stereo outs and my studio monitors. Ideally it would pass the input through to the TRS output continuously. Any insight into this wound and and I think

it is only a passthrough output, no preamp ability. you would have to control the volume at source or the monitors. as it is a passthrough design i would assume (can not personally verify) that even with headphones plugged it the signal would carry on, no headphone cutoff circuit.

tecky1kanobeThank you very much! I actually WANT the preamp to pass thru the input signal untouched so I can carry it on to my studio monitor speakers that have their own amp built into them (and very much customized for what they are built to do). So being able to plug in my XLR outputs from my audio interface into this preamp, getting an amped signal for my cans, then passing that signal untouched to my studio speakers is EXACTLY what I am looking for! Thanks!

T.biasWhy wouldn't you connect the XLR output into the speakers then? Just for easier can/speaker switching? Isn't it as convenient to switch from your audio source?
