Pc38 mic issue on pc

more_vert
So I bought the pc38s which sound amazing compared to all I have used prior, but no matter what I try, I can not get the mic working on my pc! It works fine when plugged into a controller for console, but simply wont on the pc. I own msi ge75 raider, it has two ports, one for headset, one for the mic! The cords that come with the headset are split into two, each is the 3 pin I think (TRS)... Maybe the port on the computer requires 4 pin or what else can I try? Thank you in advance!

Yes to everything before me but [incoming Hi-Tech nerd stuff] must check the connection to audio on the motherboard [looks like 8 pin connector, like USB but not. Should be marked AUDIO]. This connector is for front AUDIO connections. If this connector with wire is not there the situation gets way more involved. So make sure this case connector is plugged in properly. Good Luck!

Check your advanced sound settings and make sure your mic input is set to your headset. The default may be set to a webcam or something else with a mic in it. At least you know the mic works and can rule that out as a suspect. Good luck!

In Windows sound settings, sometimes it’s also referred to as the “Default communications device.” It may need to be set to MSI GE75 Raider, or perhaps “internal” if the MSI is a motherboard. I don’t use front audio ports on PC, I haven’t found one yet that doesn’t sound much worse than other options. By the way, the TRRS 4-section/3 black rings cable is for smartphones and game console controllers. Your PC38X should have come with both the long y-split cable and the short TRRS plug cable? Check under the cardboard “shelf” in the box.

I believe your PC has to have a separate mic input jack. If not you might need to get a sound card. Check the back of the tower? **I'm not an expert and probably wrong. good luck!
