I've had many moments. Listening to my father's record collection in the late 70s and early 80s and discovering Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Miles Davis, Santana, BB King. I don't remember the brand of receiver or speakers, but they sounded great.
Another was when my mom bought a Kenwood stack. It had a turntable, EQ, dual cassette , a CD Player and huge tower speakers. The first CD I bought was Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I needed more. Almost 35 years later, I still have that CD.
Next was in college. I bought a Sony receiver and blew out the speakers I had. The same ones I used to listen to my dad's record collection. A guy that lived in the same house as me had some gambling issues and offered to sell me some $400 Polk speakers for $150. I bought them and it was a revelation. I had them up until about 10 years ago when I upgraded to my current Polk Monitor 50 speakers that do a great job with my Sonos Amp.
Last Audiophile moment I'll mention is my recent decent into headphones and amps. I always appreciated a good set of headphones, but they weren't a focus of my listening habbit. I was looking for some new headphones in late 2017 and found Massdrop. I ordered a set of 6xx and didn't initially notice the long wait time for delivery. 3 months. I'll skip the story of all the headphones I tried and returned in that 3 month window (I kept the m100) and just say when the 6xx finally arrived I was not overly impressed. That is until I bought a DarkVoice 336SE tube amp (Massdrop strikes again). When I listened to the 6xx via the DV I had another wow audio moment and knew I had a winner.

"Murder Most Foul"
On a musical note, anyone who was at the age of reason from 1963 through to the present, and especially those who got Dylan from the very beginning, should strap on their best set of cans and listen to his most recent (surprise) release--it is a mindblower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NbQkyvbw18&feature=share&app=desktop [image]

An incredible challenge posted by Audeze official - will Dan, Sennheiser and Focal step up?
This is real. This isn't a hoax. Attached is a screenshot from the Audeze LCDi4's Amazon page. Transcribed below: Buyer Question: How much do these headphones cost to manufacture? I'm curious what the markup is Audeze's Response: No problem - just ask Sennheiser, Focal, HiFI Man, Beyer, and Mr. Speakers what their BOM costs are and send it to Audeze, and we'll post our information. (Note from me - BOM = bill of materials) You can see by the SELLER label this is the actual reply from Audeze official. Audeze has since deleted the comment, but I was amazed to see someone both bold enough to ask this question, and Audeze being bold enough to reply. I screenshotted the comment not realizing they later deleted the reply, immortalizing it forever. I think Dan of Mr. Speakers lurks Massdrop, and maybe others do too. What do you say? Can we get sign-offs from the major players to agree to post their production costs? Audeze has issued this incredible challenge, who will step up? [image]

Bluetooth replacement cables
I was looking into buying some IEM headphones here but none of these provide Bluetooth connecting cables for replacement. I am a fan of wired headphones because I am an old-fashioned guy but sometimes I feel like my gym workout would be easier if I wasn't confined to my wired connection. I've found some replacement Bluetooth wires for MMCX on Amazon with mixed reviews and the 2-pin connectors had different measurements and wasn't sure whether they would work. Does anyone have any experience with Bluetooth connecting replacement cables and if so: Which pair of headphones/connectors do you use? Which replacement cables you got? Is it worth getting? Any advise on 2 pin/MMCX/other compatibility?

Turntables?
I'm curious how many people here have turntables (that aren't neglected in the garage or attic). There are a lot of great things that I'd love to see drop here specifically for turntables. Record clamps/weights, phono preamps, cleaning supplies, etc. There are so many accessories. Having a turntable show up from time to time would be pretty cool too. Obviously if nobody is really interested in turntables here there isn't much point trying to find some cool stuff to drop.

Selling Bose headphones
I was wondering if I should sell my Bose qc35 after I get them fixed or keep them. I really like them but I think I could sell them and get a pair of headphones that just sound better.
