Not sure if this fits the criteria, but I'm a big fan of Direct Action and Spec-Ops Brand. Both make incredible tactical bags, pouches, and gear. My "EDC" work bag is a Direct Action Dragon Egg Mk II and it's served me well for nearly 2 years. I also have 2 THE Packs from Spec-Ops that I use mainly to store survival and outdoors gear, and occasionally for travel.
Other great brands I've used: Maxpedition Eberlestock Tactical Tailor Hazard 4
None of these are considered "ultralight". :) I usually look for 1000D or 600D Cordura Nylon construction and heavy stitching to support large tactical loads in rough outdoor conditions. Also, I like a lot of pouches.

DataI agree maxpedition is not light in the least. I've carried 75+ lb loads in a modified Falcon III for months at a time. Great gear but not for UL in any way.
