Hey guys, need your input/opinion. These guys offer the Glycine Combat Automatic here:
https://watch2day.nl/deal/27962/zwitserse-glycine-combat-automatics
For € 449,- It's a 24hr thing. Any thoughts? Good deal? Bad deal?
They seem to also have the "Golden Eye" version...

I got the "blackout" version of the combat sub here. It feels exceptionally strong, but the PVD finish is not very durable. So the top one is the better bet.
I would have also liked a sapphire caseback, but the engraved one is impressive, and makes it feel tough. The included NATO strap is special, too - it really feels like it's designed to fit that watch. I want to change the strap's color, but it feels perfect the way it is.
The watch is a great deal for the money - swiss-made watch with ETA movement and Sapphire and from a swiss brand with decent history.
I don't know anything about that shop, so check for warranty coverage. If it's an authorized dealer, that's a good enough deal. If it's a grey-market seller, don't pay so much. Massdrop sold it for less.
... and if you want a real 24hr watch, buy the Glycine Airman - but only the so-called "purist" version (without GMT hand).

I bought one here on a drop. I didn't personally like it because it's pretty slim and small for a dive watch (If it's the 42). I got one with a silicone strap that overwhelms the watch, since it's really thick. If I had to wear one, I'd make sure it had a steel bracelet. You reminded me that I have to put this up for auction. I later bought the Glycine Aquarius, which i'm wearing right now. It's beefy and heavy, but with some refined touches, like a pure ceramic one piece bezel and no printing or like on the bezel, just shiny, raised numbers. I really like it, but the crown seems to seize up sometimes, then suddenly start working again, which makes me nervous. It's a 50 ATM watch, and I don't want a repair guy opening it up and not having the right gasket to reseal it. I think at this price point Glycine is as Chinese as a Swiss Made Watch can get and still stay legally Swiss.

CloacaThanks for sharing your thoughts: I have just watched this video where the watch is opened and the caliber isn't even marked anywhere.. It's, as you say very very basic. But it is regulated. So I have decided to pass this one and save up for a Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date (the one that Matthew McConaughey wears in Interstellar. A bit more but a lot more special I think...

Hi! First of all: these are not 24hr watches. Only those Glycines which have the Purist in the name are. It is only the dial marking showing their military heritage. 2nd of all: Last time they were offered for $379 at MD (base price without shipping). I wasn't joining the drop as the Goldeneye was not offered. Hope this helps. Cheers

OK, clear now. Well, if the MD total price was the same as what you have locally then.. go get the GoldenEye. I am all over for this one myself. And it is much more appreciated by the collectors.

ElkyYeah I'm still contemplating: sometimes they have a model for 48 hours and it turns out they did that this time with this one. So I have another 23hrs42m to do that :-) Thing is, I actually need a new NAS and that's about the same price... Hmm, don't we all love choices ;-)
