Most headphone speakers are 50mm in size, and the largest are the HyperX with 100mm speakers. How large are the speakers in these headphones ?

From various sources on the internet, the HE-400i has 60mm drivers, so it is likely that the HE-400se and this HE-4X have the same or similar size.
The Audeze LCD-2 planar magnetic headphones have 106mm drivers, I believe, and it's not unusual for planar magnetic headphones to have larger drivers generally than dynamic-driver headphones, but it's not necessarily a reliable indicator of anything on its own. The high-end Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC, for example, "only" have 66 mm planar magnetic drivers.

50mm dynamic is not the same as 100mm planar - diff technologies. 100mm also isn't the largest driver size out there. There's plenty planars much larger that can go up to the size of a mattress. The driver can be any size and be comparable so long as the tuning is done well enough. Planars have a different dynamic and mechanical function than dynamic drivers. Dynamic drivers are pretty much the same as your typical cone speaker whereas planar work like a wall of sound as a result you get different sonic characteristics.

You're talking about dynamic driver size. These are planar and assuming they're like the 400/xx, 60mm. That said, it really doesn't mean anything.

40mm drivers seem really common though :/ Also, there isn't a reliable correlation between driver size and sound quality. If it interests you, planar drivers generally run larger than dynamic drivers, and for this model, assuming it takes after the HE-4-- series' square drivers, would have a larger driver surface area compared to that of circular dynamic drivers even with the same numerical value attached to their diameters.
I don't have my HE-400i and HE-4XX with me now, even assuming they share the same driver dimensions as these. However, gauging from memory and a measuring tape they should be close to 50mm (side of square)

Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Recommendation for my next headphone set? I have Koss 95x
Hey all, What would you recommend I get next and why? I have Koss ESP-95x electrostatic massdrop headphones. These are my first and only audiophile set. I love them. I think my only real requirements is $500 or less for the headphones and that they have a little more low end. I don’t need thump but these are really light on lows…but the experience is still awesome. Also any recommendations on an amp? I only have my electrostatic thingy. I am using the Topping D50 DAC. thx!!

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better.
