Good Combination?

So I am a first time keyboard builder and was wondering if these would be viable for a keyboard used mostly for gaming

Those are the most tactile switches I’ve ever used. I wouldn’t recommend for gaming

a keyboard is a keyboard, don't read into all the buzz words of hertz of the keyboard to all the things someone who makes a MX clone to all switch are a preference but mainly marketing to try to lull you int oa false sense of "omg this has to be something that'll make me better" usual thing from companies that sell gaming peripherals also tech reviews sadly won't tell you this either but yea. Just find a keyboard, and use it as it does not matter as a osu! player i hear from many who seek and research far too long for the same answers of the "best" key switches with some getting $400+ builds of which most that goes into the labor from the person and or company you commisson it from to also those are not worth it imo.

would not recommend drop unless your getting excesories or exclusives things like the alt and the the ctrl just arent as high quality as other things in the same area

not to advertise something else on this site but I'd look into the gmmk pro, it's a great hot-swappable board (meaning you can take the switches out, and it's really nice for beginners because you can change your switches or even mix and match switches). If you're set on drop though, I'd def go with that combo. I'd look into the switches' sound profile and smoothness. Since you're going to be gaming, I'd also look into swapping out the springs to a bottom-out force that you're comfortable with :) hope this helped, gl!

imo drop alt's/entr's feet can be troublesome if you move your keyboard a lot or on how heavy your hands are. Nevertheless plate mount stabs aren't the best. Things you can do to help with the rattle is by clipping the legs, lubing them (either krytox205g0 or dielectric grease) and lastly bandage mod on the pcb could potentially help. This is my experiences with trial and error on budget keyboards. As for switches any 5 pin you will have to cut the plastic legs, just note it will be loose (this is for any hotswap keyboard that uses all 5), but the plate of drop alt is pretty tight so should be good.

PoromancerOnly the first revision had one magnet, all the further models they revised and put two magnets in the feet, and I have never had an issue, almost hard to get to feet off.

you can only input 3-pin switches in drop-alt. it has only 3-holes. that everglide purple switches has 5-pin. so if you wanna use purple in drop-alt. you have to cut 2-pin(plastic). consider it.

Yes for sure! The drop alt is a great intro to nice quality custom keyboards. Maybe have a look at getting some plate mounted stabilisers too, as the ones that come with the board are notoriously shabby. That keycap set is also very nice, just ordered it myself! Welcome to the world of mechanical keyboards!!
