Panda Product Updates

more_vert
Hey Panda Fans, We’re enamored to see how many people love their Panda Wireless headphones. When we designed this product we wanted a truly unique, audiophile-grade wireless offering and your reviews are largely aligned with that. That being said, we’re aware that there’s a handful of different operational and functional issues that may be interfering with your enjoyment of the headphones. Our team has been working hard behind the scenes on a firmware patch to address the commonly reported issues of connectivity (disconnections, skipping, etc.) and inconsistent behavior (control stick unresponsiveness, settings, etc). We’ll have a follow up next week with more details about recent actions taken. In the meantime, if you’re having issues and want a replacement or refund, please reach out to our customer service team and they’ll be happy to help.

In the past few weeks, our internal teams have reviewed the reported headphone issues from customer feedback and have collaborated with the Customer Support team to improve your experience.  The Customer Support team is equipped with additional detailed troubleshooting workflows to either help you get your unit working, or determine if your unit warrants a replacement. We provide all instructions and details to process a return if needed.  We continue to collect more feedback along with serial numbers which will be used to improve the performance of the Pandas.
Yes, we are currently working with our software team to add the ability to reset your Panda to the original firmware if desired.

Currently we are gathering samples of returned units and we are working together with our engineering and manufacturing teams to thoroughly investigate the reported issues.

Hopefully it will be an easy fix, but I don't think that will be the case. If windows is saying: USB device not recognized, how will you possibly upload new firmware? Maybe Linux? I'll keep an eye on this thread before requesting a replacement or refund (if all units are plagued with this issue)

Come on guys! It shouldn‘t last months to fix this! Most of Panda users have now dead headphones at home, spread all around the world. That is embarrassing! You should really work day and night to fix this in the next few days.

Hey folks, based on requests, we’re working on adding an update and option to reset to the original firmware. This update will be ready for both Windows and Mac by June 30th. Our CS team is ready to assist, and can ship a replacement unit with the original firmware if you run into an issue.

Same here. Unknown device after plugging to usb-c port and not turning on, just white led fading after turning on.

If going back to the old firmware (if we can do that) lets me use my headphones wireless again, I'll gladly do it. A subsequent firmware update fixing the issues we are now having can wait, for me at least.

I'm just throwing my Panda experience out here because I am having issues like others as well. I have just contacted Drop support and hopefully they can help me out given that I am not the original purchaser. I am currently having the following issues: Does not power off. Loses connection to my devices via Bluetooth. Disconnects from devices randomly. Can only charge to 90 percent capacity. Device not recognized when connected to PC. - Was able to fix Headphones only work consistently via 3.5 connection. Initially the headphones were working fine until a few weeks ago where I noticed that my Panda headset wouldn't turn on. I thought it just needed a charge, so I did so but even after a few hours I couldn't get them to power on still. When I pushed and held the power button as per the instructions, there was only a white blinking light.  At this point I went to the forums here on Drop to research the issue. I noticed that others were having similar issues I have mentioned above. I attempted to connect it to my PC but it wasn't recognized and gave me a device error. So I let the battery expire since I couldn't turn it off anyway. After the weekend, I charged the Pandas and was able to perform a factory reset. After this I was able to connect to my PC to perform the firmware update, it was successful after a two failed attempts.  After doing so, I was able to connect to my phone via Bluetooth again, and listened for a while to test. It worked ok for a few hours and I powered them off. However later that day I powered the Pandas on and they wouldn't connect and the issue came back. I am a new Drop customer however I am not the original purchaser of these as they were given to me. I contacted them and they forwarded me their invoice to help.

Just to follow up to anyone who might see this in the future. Drop support will not cover the warranty if you are not the original purchaser. It is a shame, although I guess not surprising, yet these are brand new headphones and Drop should stand by their products regardless.

I was told this as well. I was initially so happy with the headphones that I've been considering getting a few earcups, but that's not going to be happening.

Not sure where this belongs, but I believe there's a typo in the user guide. I'm pretty sure that the highlighted word below should be "on", not off. Because try as I might, holding down the button for four seconds while turning them off does nothing. While powering on however, we're in business.

I have drop panda headphones that isn't turning on When pressing button, white light flash for a second, then it's off. This happens two times. On third time trying to turn on headphones - nothing happens. No lights.  Charging seems to be working - red light fading in and out. Soft reset did not help Firmware updater see nothing Headphones works only via aux cable.  It is not recognisable on pc, nor music plays via usb-c. Only aux. Updater also don't see headphones. Please help @Drop @Will @T.Fernandez

Have any of you two gotten your issue resolved? My pair weren't recognized by Windows or the updater, so I let the battery expire, charged them again, and performed a hardware reset. I was able to get my pair connected and updated after that. However my headphones are still having other issues unfortunately.

They don't care anymore, they'll probably issue a bandaid 1 month later that creates as many issues as it fixes. At this point I'm almost hoping my headphones brick (again) so I can get a refund, rather than risk them crapping out a year later when it's no longer under warranty

Still uh waiting on that there firmware update that will allow me and everyone else in this thread to at least reliably turn on our headphones. Its quite literally the least you can do to support a $400 purchase

I'm pretty unhappy with this, which is a shame, because they sound so nice when they do work. I was about to spend some money here to get my dad a few nice things for Father's Day, but I don't think that's a good idea anymore.
