Hi! So basically you want the tv to output to both a headphone and also the tv speakers at the same time? If you have an external speaker, it would be easy as you can just use a regular 3.5mm cable that splits in two. Something like this:

danny87Thanks Danny: then would you just have to get a separate speaker to jack into one of these splitter ends, and make sure that the headphones have adjustable volume?? If so ii is just a matter of tracking the product down. Many Thanks.

JAoneYes, you can do that. Or you can control the volume at the TV and the speakers instead. Meaning you can use the TV remote to control the headphone volume, and then adjust the speaker volume accordingly. My only concern is, you're gonna need a really long headphone cable to get a comfortable distance between the user and the TV. Maybe you can consider looking for wireless headphones meant for TV use, for example Sennheiser RS165 like below:
