Good headset for gaming

more_vert
I just got a PS5 and mostly play Warzone with my friends. Im looking for a headset/amp (if needed) that is going to help with hearing footsteps and pinpointing their location. I dont care if they are wired or wireless. A couple of my friends have the Astro headsets and like them. But i have also read that if you want a headset for gaming, talk to an audiophile. My budget would be in the 300$ range as thats what the Astros cost.

I would recommend the PC38x. If it does not get loud enough for your liking, add a Schiit Fulla 4. Do you play in an otherwise noisy environment?

I play in my office at home, so its mostly quiet. I have a Soundblaster G3 that i was using the PC37X headset with. However i dont think i was hearing footsteps as well as my teammates, as they would often know right where guys were, and i couldnt tell exactly where they were.

You can try playing with ingame sounds and see if that can assist you in raising those sounds. I dont know if the combo headphones with give the "best" spatial soundscape, but you shouldnt be at an egregious disadvantage using them If you can, there are the Phillip's open backs that are sub 100 bucks (usually) and you can get the vmoda boom mic cable (30 bucks...ish), but I'd feel like you're splitting hairs... which from what I've seen, the audiophile community is all about. If you're curious about the Phillip's and cable let me know and I can link it easily enough. This is assuming that you have a 3.5 Aux jack for the ps5, I dont have one, so I could be feeding you nothing useful
