I prefer monitors but it looks like I'll have to buy a TV.. yes I don't own one. I was hoping to stream to my pc like the one x but you can't on X series :S. I wouldn't recommend a X series to anyone, their smart delivery is a joke, quick resume is very bugged (crashes games/shuts down xbox or you have no input in game once it manages to resume without crashing or shutting down your console, not to mention some stupid things they did to their OS) I did a bit of research into splitters and they don't seem very good. I also just googled for a monitor with optical out but not surprisingly didn't find any... probably not much point as you generally have one on your PC. Thanks for the reply

You can, but it's a bit of a hassle. The Xbox Series X only has HDMI output. So you're gonna need a splitter/adapter of some sort to split the audio and video parts of the HDMI. Video goes to TV, audio goes to amp. Alternatively, you can just use HDMI to TV, and use TV's audio out to the amp. But bear in mind that all the digital to analogue conversion is being done by the TV or the HDMI splitter. If you want a decent DAC, you can use TV's SPDIF out into a separate DAC
