Comparison: Mangird Tea cable vs. Drop Premium copper
I have no real point of reference here, other than what few specs are provided for each product. But I'm curious about actual performance and/or any benefit of one cable over the other: The standard cable that comes with the Mangird Tea IEMs [8-core OCC] vs. Drop's 2-Pin IEM premium cable [premium 0.3 ohm braided copper] I purchased the Mangird Tea IEMs first, and to me it looked like it came with a pretty decent cable. Much beefier than any of the other (cheap-o) IEMs that I have used before, even bulkier (with more braids) than what came with my Auclair custom IEMs. But as I skimmed through some commentary here and there, I was reading that the Mangird cable was 'crap,' or that it was 'cheap and should be replaced.' So with that I decided that I would try the first step with an affordable upgrade to the Drop premium copper cable. Now that I have received the Drop cable, it would appear to me that the Mangird cable is still more substantial, but I have no idea about...
I found some $25 Samson SR850 on AliExpress. But they look a bit different. They have different kinds of ear padding than the review ones. I am quite new to this and want to buy a SR850. Is this $25 one kind of a Master Copy of the Samson SR850 or Is It the same headphone but with different padding to cut cost?
Drop + THX Panda -- Bluetooth Audio Clipping Whenever Resumed from a Pause of More than 2 Seconds
I don't have much experience with Bluetooth headphones and figured I'd ask here to help set my expectations a bit. I just bought some Drop + THX Panda headphones. They're well reviewed for sound quality and supporting higher-end audio codecs, some of which Macs support (eg: aptX) and some of which they don't (eg: LDAC). Anywho, upon unboxing them and pairing them to my 2020 iMac running Big Sur, I noticed that audio over bluetooth sounds totally fine until it's been paused for more than 2 seconds. When I unpause, it almost feels as if maybe the headphones are coming out of some standby or low-power mode and are rushing to start a new bit stream. The sound is clipped / distorted for a second or two until it "catches up". This is particularly annoying for things like notifications and other sound effects which, by nature, are essentially really short audio clips. I can't find anything online explaining if this is normal behavior or just a shortcoming of bluetooth or these specific...
DAC/Amp Combo for MASSDROP X SENNHEISER HD 6XX HEADPHONES
Hi! I am seriously considering buying the HD 6xx's, and I'm very new to advanced audio. I was wondering what is the best DAC/Amp combo for these headphones around $100. Thanks in advance! Geek Wold released the GK10 IEM. It's a five driver tribrid with a unique dual dynamic driver+ dual piezoelectric driver and single ba on each side. It also has beautiful stabilized wood faceplates. Anyone here knows how it performs?
