I've been eyeing getting a monster as my next watch! The resale on the originals is crazy expensive though! You're lucky you have one! I'd hands down do the handwinding mod as well! How much did that run?

bigred25929 Found it on eBay; paid $390 for it. That's a lot considering what I paid for my first SKX799 (around a hundred bucks when they first came out as I recall). But in reality I think it was a pretty decent price considering all the upgrades I didn't have to arrange, purchase and wait around for (I'm big on instant gratification). On top of that, the guy tossed in a second SKX799 bezel and bracelet--both brand new! Only drawback is the new one is so beautiful I think twice about wearing it ;- ) By the way, I notice the most recent iteration of the Monster line has kind of drifted back to this original design. For a while they went a little crazy with the LE versions and quirky colors, pretty much turning them in novelty/fasion watches, rather than the No-BS divers watch they were intended to be. Glad to see them getting back to basics even though the current prices are pretty UGLY. Lots of good info and history covering the entire Monster line here: https://www.60clicks.com/ultimate-seiko-monster-collectors-guide/ And of course if you looking for an especially good deal ($179) check out Heimdalr's interpretation of the Gen-2 Monster with teeth here: https://www.heimdallrr.com/collections/hot-sale/products/heimdallr-monster-automatic-dive-watch?variant=37524470169788 Comes in several colors...

RayFI would totally buy your back up 799 bracelet. Hence what I’m doing here in the first place lol!! it would effectively turn my skxa43 (came with silicon strap) into a skx799 came on the bracelet. Anyways, the hunt continues 💪🏼
