How's the midrange, and the timbre?

jaxtraumaPretty nice. They sound similar to open back cans, but with much more sub and mid bass. I've run into a few situations with spoken word where the baritone voice does a really jarring jump between bass and tenor. They can be a touch sibilant, but nowhere as bad as my EMU Teak or Denon AHD2000. They are pretty fantastic for bass heavy tunes, especially EDM (techno, trance, dance), but still do a pretty good job with classical strings. I'm still breaking them in and waiting for my Dekoni fenestrated pads to arrive. Can't stand the fuzzy abominations that Sennheiser defaults to. They're hot and leave me sweating after a few hours of use. I don't regret buying them. But I'm not sure how much I'd recommend them yet.
