Recommended Closed Back Headphones?

more_vert
I'm currently rocking a pair of HD58x with the hybrid ear pads and I love it. I'm using a Tascman US-2x2HR to drive them. I'm planning on recording some vocals for commentary and the mic is picking up audio from my headset. I'm blaming my open back headset, so I'm looking for a closed back headset of similar price and quality. I'm quite picky about the build quality so please keep that in mind when recommending. Thanks in advance.

Maybe take a look at the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x or Yamaha HPH-MT8. While 2 of them are not really in the same price category (without drops sale that is) at least the Beyerdynamics deliver on the quality part.

Those BD’s have caught my eye. Pricey, but if I can justify the cost later I might pick those up. Thanks man

I 'hear' FOCAL makes a couple of good closed-back sets. I haven't heard any closed form HPs in years. Never had a problem with the Clear though, plus they sound amazing. So I can recommend the brand. They are however, open to the point of transparency.

I can only imagine the Stellia or the Celestee would sound just as good, but different.

My 300 ohm Senns seem to have more detail than any of my headers except the (55 ohm) Clear. The higher the resistance in ohms, the more power they can handle without distortion, is my layman's interpretation.

Makes sense. At worst it’ll be quiet, so I guess I’ll try the 80ohm and check it out. Thanks a ton
