What to do with one side dead (Focal Elex)?

more_vert
I have a pair of focal elex headphones. By far one of the best I've had but one side went dead yesterday. Not the cable issue and read that it is common with them. Could you advise what to do? Can it be fixed locally? Given it right be the driver or copper cable inside?

Did you buy them in the last 2 years, in the US? If so, you should contact Drop's customer service. The issue is apparently more common than Focal or Drop care to admit. If it's the same issue as others have reported, then the wire that connects to your voice coil has broken. If your cans are out of warranty, the fix is to resolder it, but you first need to remove the glue on the wire (using a solvent). Search for "Simple repair for death Focal Elex" on Youtube. Good luck.
