Looking for the best open back headphones for 200 and under.

more_vert
My current everyday headphones are the ATH-m50x but I want some experience with open back headphones. I'd like for these to be great entry level open back headphones. Not sure if the AKG k7xx are the way to go or not. Thanks for the help

You can find Beyerdynamic DT-880 or DT-990 for under $200 (the pro version, not the premium version that frequently shows up on here for $240). Sounds good and very solidly built.
You can also get the Grado sr225e for $200 (or the 80 or 125 for less).
But it all depends on what you are looking for. If you can make it to a headphone meetup, you can have the chance to listen to a bunch of different headphones. Most of them are going to sound pretty good, but there are a lot of differences between brands
Also, with a lot of these headphones, you are going to need an Amp to fully power it (if you don't already have one), so count on at least another $50 - $100 for that.

Hd600. I had many up to $1300. It's best under $1000

Grab the AKG.
A) they're available NOW!
B) They are a damn fine headphone.

I really like the AKG K7XX and they will definitely give you the "open" experience that you are seeking, as they have a very wide-open sound. Go for it!

I'd say K7xx FWIW.
