I have no use for non-closed headphones. If I want other people to hear, I listen to speakers.

EvshrugI've got a modded set of Fostex T50s, and some Pioneer DJ HDJ-2000s (I used to be a DJ, and still have the gear). I'm thinking about some Meze Classic 99s, or some Audioquest Night Owls (which are almost cheap now, after being discontinued). Maybe some of Massdrop's Fostex collabs.

MattMDavisDJ IN THE HOUSE! I love making playlists and themes, but picking music for other people is hard... and my efforts often fall flat unless I know the person really well (and even then, I can’t seem to appease people that like genres I don’t).
I also have modded Fostex T50RPs – the Dekoni Blue – I’m borrowing a pair of TH 900, I have Sennheiser GAME ZERO and PX480, Creative Aurvana Live 2, and a bunch of Closed back IEMs. I kickstarted the Audeze Mobius, which I quite liked when I got to demo them at a recent PGH audio meet (thanks @AlwaysForward !), but what I really want (and it will be awhile before I can afford it) is the Sennheiser HD 820. I also liked my demo of the Beyerdynamic T51p for an on-the-go headphone, but it’s been quite a while since I heard one and I don’t know if it would still be to my taste.

EvshrugCool! Talking about DJing, have you by any chance heard the Denon DN-HP700 DJ headphones? Heard they are good (around m50x good), I had a chance to get them but unfortunately decided to get their markedly inferior younger sibling instead XD

phoenixsongI haven't had any reason to update my DJ headphones, so I have no idea what else out there is good or bad. The HDJ-2000 was built well-nigh indestructible, and although the sound signature is not ideal for listening, it IS ideal for keeping track of where your kicks, snares and hi-hats are.
I actually think if I were building up a DJ rig from scratch, I would probably go with IEMs for the monitor 'phones.
