· What do you look for in a closed-back headphone?
I like a well balanced sound, preferably swappable ear pads - often not being able to swap these kill a good pair of cans - comfort is non-optional and we all have different ears. If there was one piece of advice I would give to a new headphone maker it would be that working with several 3rd parties such as Wicked Cushions and Brainwavez to provide a second option is a great idea.
I really hate wind noise, I have several pairs of headphones where when it is windy there is a clear and audible wind noise. So some isolations between the band and the cups is important to me. Part of the point of closed back headphones is that you can use them out and about.
· What kind of strap/headband do you prefer?
I am not bothered providing there are no pressure points or wind noise.
· Are there particular brands you like?
AKG (especially my old K550s,) Sony, Sennheiser, Phillips and Panasonic.
