Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Currently on my short list for purchase are: Beyerdynamic DT-1770 Pro Massdrop x Fostex TR-X00 Ebony
I would love to see Massdrop do a collaboration with Sennheiser on a closed back 58X or 6XX.
I loved my Sony WH1000XM2's and Philips Uptowns, but once I go the 1770s I have barely touched them except for purely commuting duties.
Sennheiser HD 25 - Over 25yo. Old faithful. New ear pads & a new cable with inline remote. They still sound good but don't have a lot of extension on either end of the range.
JBL E55BT Quincy Edition - These are good traveling companions with a warm tilt. Think of a cheap tube amp. They do nothing great but nothing bad either & are fairly rugged. A fun sounding headphone w/o the ultimate level in detail. Good passive isolation.
B&O H7 - Gorgeous with excellent sound. I love the detail it provides in the upper midrange & treble. Good bass that's quick & tight. If I'm being hyper critical, it's V-shaped sound signature can make the midrange sound slightly recessed depending on material. Poor passive isolation. Almost like wearing open backs. Excellent build. Software is lacking.
Sennheiser PXC 550 - These are my favorite. Good all-rounders that are foldable & do most things extremely well. The bass is warmed up a bit but that's a good thing. They have a very good soundstage & presentation. You might find yourself dancing if you're not careful! Noise isolation is active & while it's not considered to be the best, it's the least offensive to my ears. I tend to be sensitive to active noise isolation artifacts in a negative way. My only negatives are physical. They could use bigger ear cups, less plastic & the turning of the right cup as the on/off switch, while novel, does not incur belief in long term reliability.
