Is it good? I am thinking about picking it up too.

UnalloyedBee8If you mean the JDS, I will give an honest opinion. I have only tried a few DAC/AMPs: directly into cellphone jack, pc, consoles, FiiO E10K and this. Out of all these, this unit delivers the most volume and richness to the sound. Since this is the best I've heard, I can vouch for it and don't see a need to optimize it with anything else. This unit is very convenient for my desk setup and compatible with nearly everything I need headphone/earphone wise, with a USB port which had me sold on it. While it doesn't include all possible ports, they aren't necessary for most setups. If you haven't owned previous stacks, this is a pretty good jump. The internal amp is comparable to the JDS atom which is widely praised and pairs well with HD 6xx. The DAC is not important in my opinion as you are unlikely to hear differences with human ear. Performance wise, it has a very low noise floor and the DAC/AMP is more than good enough. Unless you go into the higher end $1000 range, I don't think you will notice any real differences anyway. If you're on a budget or want the very best, I would still do further research (such as solid state vs tube amp preferences). But, if you want a very convenient unit without a headache and fantastic customer support, you won't go wrong here. I also recommend this review for better information. https://youtu.be/7B7f21WSYzI
