What is the benefit of this over the stock one?

I was wondering the same thing. I just got the HD58X and added the 2.5 balanced cable. I'd love to hear a song recommendation where I can hear the difference. I am listening to TIDAL HiFi and have the Fiiio BTR5 DAC/AMP with the 2.5 balanced jack. So far I haven't been able to tell the difference.

You probably won't hear a difference. IMO

You won't hear a difference. Balanced signal is used to mitigate electromagnetic interference on the signal travelling through the cable, if both the devices connected support it. Over a relatively short distance, in most environments, its effects are negligible, and the only benefit is compatibility with devices that only have a balanced output. One noticeable benefit this cable might provide is that it some* DACs/amps will sound louder on your headphones, because sometimes the balanced outputs use separate amplification circuits to drive each channel (because balanced needs two signals for Left and two signals for Right) effectively outputting the full nominal power while unbalanced out will probably use either one circuit for both channels (because unbalanced only needs two signals, one for L and one for R). *Fiio Btr5 has this schematic on the official website, for example:
