Preamp for volume control of left, right channels?

more_vert
Does anyone know of a preamp-like device that can adjust the level of the left and right channels with either a pan/balance control or separate left/right volume controls? I want to be able to turn down the right channel a few DB to compensate for partial hearing loss. I'd love something with the footprint and pricing of the various JDS Labs, Mayflower and/or Schitt boxes but haven't seen anything on the market that can do pan/balance other than high-end headphone amps. Thanks!

I think I've found a solution ... I've ordered two OL Switcher units — a passive (no power supply) box with two sets of ins and outs and one volume knob — from JDS Labs. My plan is to use one for the left channel and one for the right channel (split RCA inputs) in between my DAC and headphone amp. This should give me the independent left/right channel balance control I need to set it up once and forget it. Plus, the units are passive so no power switching required when turning on my PC. I've not received the units yet but think this should do the job.
