On the mercutio I don't like that bottom middle 1u button, but this little keycap reversal really makes me love it.

Love it. The ease of getting keycaps is a huge draw to this board. Hard to get sets for the minivan. This post got me to pull the trigger on getting a mercutio kit.

Haha! That's awesome, man, you WILL love it! Come join the MechWild discord & tell 'em [ g o o n f ! s h . ] sent ya! Yeah this isn't my first 40%, nor the most "accessible" layout-wise, but it quickly became my favorite with the layout I chose and I think it's my perfect 12u or compact-40%, so far. And yeah the base-kit compat is a massive plus, and even some of the more "out-there" layouts use keys that are included with probably 80% of base kits that keyset manu's put out these days. 👍🏽 The build experience was also super straight-forward & so satisfying to admire after (although I suggest you try to source a small strip of Peel-A-Way's if you can find 'em! For the OLED+Encoder). I think I did a pretty great job if I do say so myself! 🙃

Thanks a ton, bud! I really really think this is my perfect Compact-40%. It's so gorgeous, and sounds incredible after the extra acoustic modifications I did, plus those Topre-like Blueish Whites. It doesn't sound anything like an open sandwich-build anymore. I highly recommend checking out my newest uploads of it now that the "more bits n' pieces" showed up, to really see it fully finished! 😁 It's hard to believe it's even the same budget-kit keyboard.
