Desktop System Specification (using it for light gaming and hosting VMs for software development) - i7-2600k - 32GB of RAM - ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM - ASUS Xonar DG sound card
Laptop Specification: - Just a regular Dell laptop, i5 CPU with 16GB of RAM, a work laptop issued by my company. You can think of this more or less as a thin client that connects to VMs hosted from my desktop remotely for software development.
Keyboard: - Cooler Master CMSTORM Trigger Mechanical Keyboard (blue switch)
Mouse: - Mad Catz R.A.T 3 (for gaming) - Anker Vertical Mouse (for working)
Speakers/Subwoofer - Cerwin Vega XD3 Active Studio Monitor - Blue Octave SW6D Powered 6.5" Subwoofer (got it on EBay for cheap, just need a little bass)
Headset/Headphone - Creative Sound Blaster Wireless Tactic 3D Rage - Plantronics GAMECOM 818 Wireless Headset - Plantronics Wired Headset (not sure about the model, it's 10+ years old) - Sennheiser HD439 Wired Headphone
Monitor: - Acer B286HK 28" 4K monitor (middle) - AOC e2450Swd 24" FHD monitor (top) - AOC E1659FWU 16" USB monitor (bottom) Why 3 monitors? For work, top monitor is usually for e-mail and chat, middle monitor for coding, bottom monitor for reading references or editing document. When using it for joy, top monitor is typically playing video and middle monitor is for web surfing. Bottom monitor is not connected to my desktop. It is used for work only when I am on my laptop.
Network Gear: - Thecus N4100EVO NAS - 9TB in RAID5 - Motorola Arris Surfboard SBG6700-AC cable modem/wireless router combo (not using the wireless router capability) - Ubiquiti EdgeRouterX (primary needed a router to allow me to setup VLANs at home for cheap) - Netgear GS108Tv2 8 ports smart switch - Netgear GS108Ev3 8 ports smart switch (not using at this moment but shown on picture) - Ancient Raspberry Pi 2 Model B using it as a wireless G router for my wireless printers
Others: - Z-Line Belaire Glass L Desk - Varidesk 48" Pro Plus stand desk conversion - Mr. Coffee Mug Warmer (keep my coffee warm, extremely important! Highly recommended!) - A bunch of Raspberry Pi(s)... - A bunch of hot wheels just because I collect them for fun.

Did drop get rid of tech as a shop option?
I am on drop and I click on shop and my communities and I can’t find tech to shop. I noticed a little while ago they got rid of pc gaming as an option but tech? Their most popular community? Come on drop I feel like this website has gone downhill since it changed its name from massdrop.

If you were buying a laptop...
So, Asus finally took the wraps off the prices on the FX505DY and FX705DY laptops. For those who haven't been following these two laptops are the very first Ryzen 3xxx series laptops to hit the market, and the very first Ryzen laptops of any kind to my knowledge that contain a discrete 1080p capable GPU. The mobile RX 560. The price point is attractive, converting from Euro's the US prices should be somewhere between ~$599(US) to ~$799(US). The build quality, promoted as Asus reaching Military Specifications, probably means these laptops will do very well in the Esports market. But... they aren't laptops that I personally would want to buy. One deal breaker is the appearance of an HDMI port. Really? An HDMI port? Why? Let's be honest here for a second. Even Nintendo is using USB Type C DisplayPort output to provide HDMI. When Nintendo, whose legacy of hardware choices includes shipping a 12 year old ARM V7 processor in a mobile device instead of using the available ARM V8 for...

Email frequency option
What do y'all think about having an option to change the email frequency? I like taking a look at them but having them daily is a bit much for me. If there's actually an option for this that I couldn't find, feel free to point me in the right direction. Also, how about a meta-discussion category because this doesn't really fit where I'm putting it. Sorry about that!

Gaming PC Build
Hello Massdrop Community, Im not knew to pc hardware and all that Jazz it’s just I’m new to building pc’s, I was looking to see if I could get some help in assembling sort of a budget gaming pc as I don’t have a lot of money right now. My currency is AUD, my budget is around 1000 AUD (not full gaming setup just the build, already got all things such as mouse, keyboard etc.) the build can exceed the budget but I just want a good build. You can also add some rgb, doesn’t faze me but yet rgb looks nice. Last but no least I’m not fussy about having different branded parts, I’m leaning more towards AMD instead of Intel Rn though. Any ways good luck to you all.
