They still sell Incandescent Maglites?
I have one of the AAA solitaires from my boy scout days... put a fresh battery and bulb in it, woo who it works! The color is really warm, to the point where it loses as much accuracy as a really cool LED, and the light is pretty dim even if you focus to the narrowest point of light. Only good for reading books for a few nights, walking to the bathroom, and burning through batteries!
I recommend the much more versatile lights from Manker, the Olight i3s, ThruNite AAA (I forget the name), Lumintop Worm or Tool lights... watch-cell thumb lights... almost any LED flashlight will have longer practical battery life and brightness.
I don't know the surefire well, because they just seemed expensive.
