Has there been a drop on one of these items? Regardless, will a drop for one of these cases happen in the near future?
FWIW, I have both the F-C 6- and 13-pen Penvelopes... I definitely get a lot of use out of them. A nice thing about them is that there's no zippers or elastic bands to scratch pen finishes, or uneven gaps that allow pens to rub against each other, which is a problem I've experienced with the other candidates over the years.
I added the 13 pen case from Franklin Christoph. I have a pelikan 3 pen case at the office now, but would like something with higher capacity for my best pens. The FC 6 pen option seems silly because you can more than double the capacity for a small increase in price.
I voted according to what I would be most likely to buy in a drop.
I did not vote for the Markario case, but that is because I already have more than one. It is top notch quality and quite handsome. It is heavier than some, but that probably relates to how well it protects your pens.
I also have the six-pen version of the Visconti case. It is quite light weight but also of very high quality materials and construction. It is the coolest design, IMO.
I do not have the F-C Penvelope. I have seen them at pen shows. They are handsome, and very masculine (I say at the risk of attacks for gender stereotyping, or worse.). They are also heavy for their capacity. I can't imagine choosing it over the Visconti for travel. The higher capacity F-C cases might be good for at-home or office storage.
My impression based on one 4-pen Aston case is that the quality is so-so and significantly lower than that of the other options.
I know it's not leather, but, if I were to buy another 6-pen case for travel, unless some one were giving away a Visconti case, my first choice would be a Nock Co. Brasstown.
