Already hold on this Fantastic DAP for 2 weeks, it's great DAP for sure I use ZX300 for a year before bought YinLuMei A1S, and it's definitely 1 or 2 level above ZX300 in terms of SQ So.... yeah i recommend YinLuMei A1S

ytanjungCongrats on your purchase, ytanjung! Did you have a chance to listen to A1? I'm interested in the sound signature difference between the A1 and A1S. Could you drop a few lines of SQ comparison between the A1S and other DAPs you've auditioned (except ZX300)? How about DSD playback on A1S: does it have a native DSD support both in DAP and USB DAC mode? Did you bother to compare the DSD-PCM and Native DSD modes on A1S in terms of SQ, do the native DSD recordings sound better in any way then PCM on A1S? And could you tell us about the A1S battery life? Thanks!

BellyworshipperI haven't tried A1 yet, The easiest way to describe A1S: a bit better in technical compared to QP1R yet it's so musical (QP1R is too cold). Against DX200 + AMp 7, A1S has better transparency and obviously technical. For DSD playback should be the same as YinLuMei A1 since it has the same system (transport android + DAC/AMP). Battery life around 8 hours per cycle

ytanjungThanx, for the info! Well, the A1 does not seem to support DSD playback natively, only via DSD-PCM conversion, that's why I was asking:) And the battery life of A1S similar to the one of the A1 achieved with two DACs on board looks cool:)

silverakI did not try on mine, so don't know. Theoretically, you can if the Spotify/Tidal app can be installed on Android 5.1 with no Google services, I guess. However, there are ways to install Google services on A1/A1S, as far as I know

silverakyes, i can use spotify / deezer / tidal for sure since those apk don't associate with Google services, while i couldn't use USB Audio Player Pro in YinLuMei A1S

ytanjungytanjung, have you used spotify/deezer/tidal apps on your A1S without any issues? Do these apps detect the DAC part and output the sound correctly?

It works fine for spotify, just make sure neutron/onkyo don't take over the USB device (since both of the apk can be set automatically take over USB Audio Device) Neutron works the best for my taste even though it's not that stable for YinLuMei A1S

ytanjungI mostly use Neutron and Hiby Music on my A1. Could you please explain what you mean by not that stable when referring to Neutron use? Do you encounter any Neutron-specific issues on A1S?

Bellyworshippersometimes when play and pause song, Neutron won't recognize DAC till i restart the DAC, it happens a lot on Ver 2.09 and 2.10 Currently using Ver 2.07 and works just fine (glad i still have the APK) maybe something wrong with my settings though xD
