Hi Hollopointz,
On the contrary HPI was purchased by a company called Ripmax, please see Car Action Magazine article below:
http://www.rccaraction.com/blog/2016/05/31/ripmax-buys-hpi/
Traxxas Traxxas Traxxas...because they have the most to spend on advertising? I believe that hpi bought them. The erevo all they do is increase the price of it every year for the same truck!?!? Crooks and plastic everything. Losi Baja Rey...no I don't have it but the reviews and vids I've seen its serious.
If we drop the X-Maxx how many would participate?
Pro SC 4x4 FTW!

Traxxas is GREAT if your a fan of PLASTIC. How can anyone vote for 50% Traxxas RCs!?!? Anyone who knows anything about RC cars/Trucks knows that Traxxas is an entry level beginner all plastic everything. AND THE REVO goes up in price by a couple hundred bucks for the exact same truck. All they do is add vxl or E-Revo + and it's the same truck. There marketing is completely misleading as well. For example on the Revo box it's says in bold 65mph+. However you have to buy idk ten different parts for that speed. The only good Traxxas truck is the 4x4 slash ultimate or whatever it's called. The only thing not plastic is the motor, esc, screws and... That's about it. Losi, Arrma, Muegen. Blow Traxxas anything out of the water. Check out any specs or join an RC group on Facebook and see what people think abt Traxxas. Crazy. Please someone prove me wrong..

who said plastic is bad? if everything were metal, the car would be too heavy. besides, plastic is strong enough. Don't know how you drive your car, but my slash 4x4 (not the ultimate) is quite sturdy. Sure, I've broken a couple of plastic parts over the years, like the a-arms and hub carriers. I upgraded to RPM a-arms and they haven't broken. I did upgrade to metal hub carriers but thats about it. I read somewhere that someone with the RPM bull-bars crashed into a wall. The plastic bull-bars were fine, but the metal drive shaft broke. So yeah, don't underestimate plastic.
The e-revo advertising says "50mph out of the box....65mph all out". So yes, stock won't go 65mph+. See this picture from the traxxas ERBE page:

I don't find that misleading. oh and by the way...traxxas isn't entry level. They make the fastest rc car off-the-shelf in the world, the XO-1. I own this car and it rocks. I installed the included pinion gear and it hits the advertised speed.
