The Asrock Taichi X370 is already sold out @189$, so I would assume that's the popular one.
What do you guys think about pairing that up with the 1700 or 1700X?

darth4151700 is more casual everyday use, 1700X is more enthusiast oriented

Ambidextrous_LemonBoth are good for pretty much anything, to the most part, but you rather pay a little more for the X. Rather not feel bad after because you don't have enough power. Like @darth415Said, 1700 is the casual between the two.

ScorpionSome forums are saying go with the 1700 not 1700x because they both OC to about the same point.
Id say if you're not going to OC, 1700x if you are going to OC, research it a bit and see what clocks people are getting. 3.9-4.1 is the range I've seen in discussions
