Beginners beware, your sharpener is just as important as your knife choice. I'd say that my Spyderco Sharpmaker does the job on all of my serrated blades and is extremely user friendly, and if you're really concerned about doing damage to your knives I'd just pick up the work sharp.
Hey, I bought a few Benchmade knives in my day, and each one has stood the test of time, and the crazy things I do to them. Plus what really makes a knife company set apart from the rest? Their customer service; smart, talented, easy going people who truly love what they do. If there was any other company that was as great as them it'd be Kershaw in a close second. I sent in a knife that was broken in half and just destroyed, completely voided the warranty, should have cost me more than $200 to get my knife back (NEVER let your junior enlisted use your knife) but they said that a broken knife was clearly their fault not the fact that my guys tried to use it as a pry bar. (seriously who does that? Who uses a folding knife as a pry bar?). They sent me not only my knife back but a replacement knife incase mine ever broke again.
Why is the top voted knife in a Benchmade knife poll, a knife called "Benchmade"? Is this part of the meta, or are we just not taking this seriously and any Benchmade knife will make us happy?
Have in mind that benchmade warranty will not cover knives purchased in here.

@Laxus, why wouldn't they be. If they are sourced directly, they should. If they go through a third party, it wouldn't. I would think it would be too early to tell if a warranty would be covered here or not depending on the channel they are from -- unless that has been the norm for previous benchmade drops.

Actually they would cover them. I've bought multiple knives off Ebay and off friends. Benchmade covered and will cover all Benchmades. They replaced all screws, Axis springs and clips for free, and I never purchased a Benchmade from Benchmade. Don't forget Benchmade's "Life Sharp" service.
The Becker is a KA-BAR product, not sure why it's included here...
Also the plural of "knife" is "knives". :P
Personally, I find half-serrated blades to be better than ones with out the serrations, because it makes it easier to cut things like rope, and can also be useful when whittling.

Straight edge is easy to sharpen, you run it along an oiled stone (or your general knife sharpener). Serrated is not easy, if you were to run it through a normal sharpener, all you would do is file away the points of the serration, rendering it worse than before.
True, it did take me a while to get good at it. For people who don't obsess over sharpening their knives perfectly, the combo blade is probably the better choice, especially for camping use.
