So.....why did the Auros get chosen? shouldn't the EVGA or ASUS have been picked????? Definitely not taking part of this drop, and I would LOVE to grab a 1080ti, just not this turd.
I kind of love how a GTX 1070 was thrown into the mix and it is getting more votes than some of the other GTX 1080 TIs
how long will this take?
The zotac 1080 ti Amp extreme is the best of the bunch. I have it and it reaches a max of 62 degress on 100% power. Mine also automatically overclocked itself to 2ghz. It's also very silent. Only downfall is that ita HUGE!
So how does this work exactly?
I'll never understand why folks clamour to the ASUS ROG cards. They end up being slightly more expensive or equal value to competing brand's top-tier cards but don't perform as well. Two reviewers show the ftw3 blow the rog out of the water out of the box. As far as overclocking, all of the Pascal cards pretty much overclock the same unless you get a bad card. There's really no silicon lottery here.

None of what you said makes my subjective opinion "incorrect." Not to mention I am still correct on price. Look at Gamer Nexus (especially for noise), JayzTwoCents, and AbwloAwesome's reviews. All of them show a noise difference of a 3% margin (with the STRIX being "quieter" but a. at those little differences it's negligible to the workload b. considering the fact that the ftw3 is a two slot card and the STRIX is not I'll take the thinner card for a 3% difference in noise) and...as I said before...out of the box it just performs faster. Yeah, if you're spending money on these kind of cards you're more than likely overclocking them at which they'll perform the same, a fact I already mentioned, but none of what you said makes my statement "incorrect." It's still more expensive and doesn't make sense for folks to want to get a drop IMO.
At the end of the day, if I had to pick between the two I'm going to pick the smaller card (assuming I'm not putting it on water), from a company that has better warranty coverage and customer service. Once again...most of this is subjective and can't be "incorrect."

You said they don't perform as well which is incorrect. That isn't even including the Poseidon. You were stating "subjective" opinions saying it doesn't perform as well, saying it as a fact, therefore yes you are incorrect.
You also just stated like a "fact" that they perform overclock the same. That is a statement, which is incorrect. Look at overclock charts. The Poseidon tops all the charts, while the Strix 1080Ti offers the highest air cooled card, mainly due to the better cooling.
The whole point of Massdrop is to get lower prices off retail while also including products that are specifically awesome. Saving money on a Strix 1080Ti is likely to tempt more people to buy something that they really want at a lower price. There is a reason it was the highest voted product.
You can't just say what you are saying is subjective and then make statements.
Where's the palit gamerock cards, they're by far the most bang for your buck clockspeed to price wise. Plus the look hella cool for Blue and white builds
does anyone know how low of a price this could drop

Not much , some of this have a price of 300$-500$ like the zotac one. So maybe $50-100$ bud's.
