The Osborne 940S-1 has always been outside of my price range, but I have owned a 940-2 for about a year now, and it has been my favored EDC ever since.....and I have more than one decent pocket folder. The 940-2 resembles the 940-1 at a casual glance, except that it has black G10 scales instead of carbon fiber, and the blade is S30V steel instead of S90V. Even though it has “inferior” steel, the 940-2 blade is as sharp today as the day I bought it, and I’ve only touched it up a couple of times, using a Lansky BladeMedic that I keep in my go-bag. I don’t know anything about Kizer knives, but I do know that you can’t go wrong with a 940 series Benchmade folder. They are the perfect EDC knife - light, smooth action, handsome, and real sharp. I also own a Benchmade Fixed Contego 183, which is also an Osborne designed knife, with the same shape of blade as the 940 folder, but with a 4.97” fixed blade, and an overall length of 10.18”. It is strong and well balanced. While it is marketed as a “tactical fixed blade”, it is a great hunting/survival knife too. I loves me some Benchmade.
