We need MORE Xeons, people! If you like to game, fine. But, I've been to busy with 3D modeling, Fabrication, Virtual Machine configs, etc... why should we who are not currently gaming, have to focus on "game-optimized" processors???
More XEONs PLEASE!!!

I'd go with that, provided we could get enough people to drop the price.

It would be a dream to get a few hundred people to commit and see how much can they drop the price
intel only sells cpu in lots of 1000 only and Im pretty sure their not going give a discount for even a few thousand purchases (not even 10k)
Lets all be serious.... Unless you're doing intensive 3D modeling or massive 4k gaming a 6600k would be completely fine. I have mine OC'd to 4.7 GHz at 1.35v. Idle it runs about 28-30c depending on how hot it is outside (currently at 37c with 3 tabs open and running battlefield on my other monitor) . I have the lower end H60 Corsair cpu cooler on it so it isn't like I'm fancy. Just drop $220 on the 6600k and be happy with your purchase. Edit: it's OC'd to 4.8 @1.31

I completely agree if your not video editing or 3D modeling you don't need anything more.
Vote for the skylake cpu. these cpus use a socket with a much better upcoming upgrade path
This isn't going to happen, as Intel doesn't nees to gain populairity neirher does it neer to sell more units.

This is from NewEgg, it is marginal, i would hope 300+ orders could get a better deal, but it would be ignorant to make assumptions. 1$944.99 2-4$935.99 5-9$930.99 10+$925.99

okay, 300 might get a pricedrop of about $50. which is only about 5% pricedrop, I don't think massdrop will do that kind of a drop.
