I am not voting on this poll, because I do NOT like this pen.
Yes the nib is smooth. But there are at least two dealbreakers for me on this pen. I ordered a blue medium from Goulet and actually sent it back for a refund.
My gripes:
1. Although the nib is nice, smooth and wet, the fit and finish of the pen is unacceptable. The cap freewheels when posted, and when capped! I expect a pen's cap to stay in place when it covers the nib--even if freewheeling doesn't mean it's not secure, i don't like it. The freewheeling is even worse when the cap is posted to the end of the pen.
2. Posting. When posted, the pen is a mile long--7 inches. That's too long, especially for such a slender pen. For reference, a posted TWSBI ECO, which I think we can all agree is quite long posted, is about 6.5 inches. Because of the way the pen is designed, the entire length of the cap is added to the end of the pen when the cap is posted. So unposted, it's only about 5 inches, which isn't long enough for my large hands to use comfortably.
Like I said, I sent mine back to Goulet for a refund. YMMV; i found it to be unacceptable for a $50-$60 pen.

I am NOT VOTING because this pen is of a very POOR QUALITY!
What said in §1 was very much true and I would like to even emphasise it! The cap shakes in place (no off the pen) when shacking the pen the pen (as said both for capping and for posting!). Even tilting it was enough, if holding firmly. This and the cheap materials (plastic used for children's cutlery) led me to return this pen on the day after receiving it. I like the brand but this was a complete disappointment. This product does not worth a third of its common retail price.
I would like to defend the original 849 ballpoint. It is made of better materials and finished with a much nicer texture and has a real well-built-well-engineered kinda feeling. Every property of this pen is different: width, weight, materials, build quality and price (849s are some affordable ballpoints), they should not be treated as siblings. The fountain-pen is terrible, the ballpoint is superb.
