please give me the yeti mic PLEASE my mom never has money please please please im begging
i honestly wonder what benefits you gain by buying a $150+ microphone or even a $100+ microphone if its just for gaming. you need a mic to communicate, sure, but nothing that high end. youre not a professional youtuber or podcaster. you dont gain anything if all you need is a microphone for discord or teamspeak. youll sound clearer, but i highly doubt anyone will understand you any better. you dont need crystal clear resolution and detail capture for voice chatting or skype, any $50 microphone or webcam will do. imo ofc.
this post should be renamed to entry level podcasting or recording mics instead. and of the options listed, its really only down to these 3: snowball, yeti, mod-mic.

Maybe people want to start youtube/podcast, or like me talk to their employers online. Also voice chat family, friends, gaming lobbies etc.
You have a point, but still its other people's money and decision :)

I do a lot of tabletop gaming via Roll20 and a good mic can really help bring across all the nuances of my character when I'm playing. It's probably not the type of gaming most people think of but for me a solid mic goes a long way toward improving the experience.
I am going to have to agree that the blue yeti is not a fabulous mic. But it is decent, if a little overpriced. With a massdrop, I'm betting it could hit a really good price-quality ratio. Of course, the mod mic 4.0 gets my second vote because for its size & price, it is an incredible microphone.
im a small youtuber with 350+ subs and looking to make a gaming setup(excluding the PC) and i cant decide which Mic is the best under 50$

There really is no good mic under $50. If you can go for a $100 plus shipping and on a good day you can get an ATR-2500. My friend was testing his 2020 and his yeti, 2020 came out on top which is a slighter better version of the 2500. Listening to only the Yetti or the Snowball, you'll think they're the best there is around, kind of how people think beats are the best headphones which in reality, it's the first time they've heard bass and are too ignorant to look at other headphones. My 2500 from our tests is a bit better than the Yetti. If you have a mic arm, you'll be paying for a special mount, you could possibly be paying for a special pop filter and you won't use half the settings on the microphone. The Snowball is total trash. Just. Simply. Trash.

TMS® Adjustable Desktop Microphone MIC Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand Holder Black, $16.95; On Stage MY-420 Studio Microphone Shock Mount, $34.95: bought both on Amazon. Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone, bought at Frys, on sale for $49. Works WAY better than the mic on my Logitech G230 headset. Simple to hook up, no mixer needed.
WTF ARE GAMING MICROPHONES xD
I only really want one of these as a mic to talk to friends with over skype and xbox ( its usable when plugged into consoles)
if you will please vote for the blue yeti microphone because to have it drop would be amazing so i could get it for my YouTube channel

There's better, cheaper alternatives
my razer seiren is amazing for youtube
Are you serious?! "Gaming" Microphones?...OOHHNNOOOO how old are you? I don't mean to insult but.. Really? Just like the gaming headphone craze, get something without the title gaming and something that's hopped on to by big YouTubers and Streamers. Blue Yeti, actually not that great, Razer Seiren, a bit worse, Blue Snowball, pretty bad.. Really bad. My ATR2500 kills it. Anything XLR (analog signal) will give warmer, more natural sound, USB, has to has it's own decoder, amplification, power source, etc.... Just get a good mic... Nothing over hyped by Blue or Razer.. They're not that good, I assure you. Shock mounts and filters for them are a pain, you're paying a premium to get a shock mount for them which will be needed if the mic is attached to your desk, especially today's modern desk. I have an older, thicker, hand crafted desk that's pretty sturdy (ACTUAL, SOLID WOOD), takes most of the vibration.

ATR2020 XLR and USB kills the Yetti. No matter what, Yetti just doesn't stand up to it's competition, especially similarly priced items; this is the case with all of Blue's products.

I'm a big fan of the AT2020 for voice but the one place Blue gets a slight edge is that the Yeti has selectable patterns which give you a bit more versatility. A direct comparison of both in the same pattern (Cardioid) the AT would easily outshine the Yeti but the Yeti is a servicable workhorse. It should be a bit cheaper given the quality but remember that the cost of an item is what someone is willing to pay for it.
Personally I'd run an AT2020 XLR through a decent preamp for professional work (VA, Music etc.) and use the Yeti for personal use/entertainment. To each their own I guess.
